As this was part of the great push north (by Ian and myself) and the light was fading fast it seemed a god idea to tackle this one first. (The schedule had Ben Hope before Klibreck.) Haste was the order of the day as I sped across the gently rising moor to the foot of a uniformly steep 600m slope leading almost directly to the summit. The wind was strong, enough to blow me sideways in places and horrible grey cloud seemed to be moving in. Occasionally drops of rain could be felt.
The steep slope turned out to be very soft and mossy, I looked forward to the descent. At the top a fierce wind blew over the ridge. I rounded the cairn and headed down, 28 minutes later in the car again, glad to have cheated the dark of catching me on the moor.
