A long wait at Blair Atholl for Ed followed by a fast drive to the Schiehallion car park found me trotting through it fearing yet another descent, please not a repeat of Beinn a' Bheitheir. A huge path led easily up to the final quarzite covered bouldery ridge to the summit, so far so good.

Another warm day, but very clear and apparently settled. Just beyond the summit a small path led me relatively easily through the screes and boulders on Schiehallion's south side, then I hit the long heather and progress slowed dramatically. Horrible stuff, holes, boulders all hidden, my knees started to complain, but eventually I reached the bottom and began a long climb, contour and climb to reach the first of the Cairn Mairg group. Behind Schiehallion looked a long way away.

An enjoyable run followed, many of the hills we'd been up were visible to the north, ahead and to the south were those yet to do, on the whole it seemed we were on the home straight (around 45 Munros left to do!)

A rapid but very steep descent from Carn Gorm (did I really suggesgt we finish the leg here?) finished my knees off, and I was bounced up Glen Lyon by Alwyn to hand over to Rob.
