Ross had arranged to have a comfortable night in the Spittal of Glenshee Hotel with Shiela. He had persuaded me to give him a call when I finished my leg, and appeared none too enamoured with the weather.
When we arrived at the car park in Glen Clova, I felt that he needed a boost to his morale to approach the dreich weather with any enthusiasm, so I stayed up insteaad of sleeping in the back and we talked.
In the event, shortly before Graeme arrived the sun came out and the hills started to appear. By the time Graeme suddenly appeared from a totally unexpected direction Ross was raring to go and set off enthusiastically – perhaps it was to get away from my chatter.
The weather became quite glorious, and he had an enjoyable run over the short glass plateau in a good time.
