When I finished my run down the crags to the Mullardoch Dam there were 2 cars there. Sheila was there with hers, but Ross was nowhere to be seen.Sheila yelled for him and he ambled into sight totally unprepared to be running soon. He gets into the car and as I drive down the glen changes as we go.

He still hasn't got his shoes on as I stop for his start. He doesn't like the look of it as the glen he has to go up is heathery and psychologically difficult knowing that at the saddle he has to decend down the other side to the Glen Affric road before he even starts his proper climb.

I understand that the only reason Ross was at my leg finish at all was because others had over at Morvich had told him he needed to get a move on. He had not looked at the length of the drive and apparently just assumed it would be half an hour or so!

Once on the ridge Ross's split times look good. The weather was constantly deteriorating through the day. The Cloud and wet drizzle I had had had become continuous rain with some very heavy spells and the wind had increased. Ross was not a fan of such conditions so he did a good job having been so ill-prepared.
