Alison Cunningham - Another epic overnight adventure for me, with Hazel this time - the Corryhully horseshoe. Driving rain for our cycle access then complete disorientation on the ridge. Paths that appeared and disappeared and a fab fun descent into our early morning first views of the night! Wonderful estate road for our cycle return to Glenfinnan. Love it! Thank you Hazel for great company! 😊
Fran Loots - At least someone is enjoying the weather.. Another grim day for the runners though...
Sue Savege - Pork pie stop on carn mor dearg
Corri Black - 10hrs of running, more than 10,000ft of ascent, 9 munros, clag in for most of the day and wet, slimy rocks made for a bit of an epic across Ben Nevis and the Grey Corries with the amazing Sue Savege as part of Veteran Women's Munro Relay
Fran Loots - Yesterday was a testing day, stealling myself for my first solo run in the mist, rain and wind with many nights of sleep deprivation. In the end the run - tough though it was at times - was the easy part! The challenge was cycling a hybrid up the track towards the incoming runners at bothy Leacach - a totally unsuitable bike for the terrain.I pushed it up all hills as it just slipped otherwise. Unfortunately my mountain bike post had been lowered to suit a smaller runner than me then seized so it was as good as useless. Oh for a bike that has an easily adjustable seat post! Sending it off to Comrie Croft Bikes to see if the mountain bike can be made useable again... It was interesting being out solo again. Something I used to do regularly but then got to the point of wanting to share the journey with others. There was some delightfull running in the cold conditions then the oh **** moment when looking at the descent through steep terrain off Stob a' Choire Mheadhoin. Poles away! Then fatigue creeping in as I lost the path and just headed free range off the hill to the lochside. At the end of the day though knowing we are doing this in support of Free to Run kept me going. We are very privileged to have so much fabulous terrain on our doorstep Mountaineering Scotland Scottish climbing and mountaineering I am bagging the Munros
Corri Black - Now something we can all relate to. Part of the pleasure is the mountains, part of the pleasure is the recovery feeding. Thanks @glenroycafe #glenroycafe
Sarah Dunn - With a decision not to send runners into Corrour until Friday morning it seemed a shame not to use some spare intermediate time last night to pick off the west end of the Creag Meagaidh range - Beinn a Chaorainn & Beinn Teallach.
Though cloud was still clinging to the tops and there was moisture in the air, the wind had dropped to manageable levels and it was a joy to finally hit some more runnable terrain. I was under no time pressure for changeover but couldn’t resist pushing on for the joy of the run.
Frogs 🐸 hopping all over the road then entertained me on the slog back up to Fersit at a more leisurely pace on the bike. A fab wee outing 🤩
